Hi.
I'm Rosie.
I'm not really a tech, but my dad (he's the one with me on the home
page) said I had to be first. A1 Transmission shop mascot, that's
me. I'm a 14-year-young lab, border collie, blue heeler, mutt mix.
I came from the humane society at 6 months and never looked back.
I've been in the "love a pet" program visiting children
and the elderly in health care facilities. I've worked with underprivileged
boys and girls at school. I'm a dog jogger and you can see me in
the "Dogs of Madison" book. I'm retired now. Stop in and
say "hi."

with your vehicle. Leroy has been in the automotive industry for over
40 years, as a tech and a writer. I'm sure you will find him very

Randy, Tech
Randy has been with A1 Transmission since 1997. He is certified not
only in transmission repair, but in many other areas of auto repair.
Randy has been an auto tech for over 20 years. He also attends transmission
seminars throughout the year to keep up with all the latest changes
in the industry. He enjoys Nascar, football, hunting four-wheeling
and an occasional cigar. |

Nunez, Tech
Nunez came to A1 Transmission as an MATC grad with high recommendation
from his instructors. After completing the auto mechanic program,
he wanted to pursue the transmission area because of its complexity
and diversity. He, too, is certified in transmission repair along
with other areas and also accompanies Randy to all the latest transmission
seminars. A California native, Nunuz takes care of all our Spanish-speaking
needs. He enjoys roller blading, biking and jet skiing. |

Hi.
I'm Mike Duffy.
I'm the owner of A1 Transmission Service in Madison, Wisconsin. Thank
you for visiting our site. I've been in auto repair since I bought
my first car at age 15, a '55 Chevy that needed some TLC. I still
have it too. I graduated from MATC's Auto Mechanic program in 1976.
In 1979, I was asked to teach a night course at MATC in automatic
transmissions; a part-time job that continued for 10 years. Since
graduation, I have had full-time jobs in classic car restoration and
I've worked in other transmission shops. In 1980, I, along with Gordie
Napstad, started A1 Transmission Service. I've been there ever since.
More on the business in "About Us."
After 25 some years of being the hands-on certified technician, I
have shifted more to the management side of things. I still go to
tech seminars and will do the hands-on work, just not as much. I have
very skilled techs. If I'm in the shop, I get in their way. I enjoy
Rosie, drag racing, scuba, all car stuff and being with friends and
family. But most of all I enjoy happy, satisfied customers. |
